Impact/Purpose:

This presentation will give the audience information on what organims are of concern in drinking water.  It will discuss how to isolate and grow these organisms and what cautions and other concerns need to be taken into consideration when trying to culture these organisms.  The talk will discuss laboratory techniques and biases that may influence the results.  

Description:

Drinking water may contain bacterial pathogens, as well as other organims that can make people sick.  It is imperative that treatment of water remove these organisms before the product is delivered to the public.  This presentation will discuss the specific organims of concern in drinking water, and how laboratory techniques can be used to anaylze the water and determine if treatment is suffecient.
