Citation:

Brinkman, N., S. Keely, AND M. Nagarkar. Quantitative and Qualitative Assessment from a Statewide Network for Wastewater Monitoring. Fifth Edition of the Town Hall for the EU Sewage Sentinel System for SARS-CoV-2, Cincinnati, OH, July 07, 2021.

Impact/Purpose:

Environmental surveillance of wastewater can be used to monitor the prevalence, genetic diversity, and spatial/temporal trends of enteric virus circulation in communities. Quantitative and qualtitative analysis can provide insight on the viral loads shed by infected community members over time and identify signatures of circulating variants.

Description:

Our experience with the state-wide Ohio Wastewater Monitoring Network will be presented with a focus on the quantitative and qualtitative assessments utilized to identify variants of concern and variants of interest in wastewater samples.
