Impact/Purpose:

This presentation will provide overview of environmental microbiology research in EPA-ORD. We will also discuss about research in national laboratories.

Description:

This presentation includes two research projects such as harmful algal blooms (HABs) and microbial disinfection using UV-LEDs. For the HABs study, we will present 1) molecular ecology, 2) HAB monitoring tools, and 3) case studies. The second part of the presentation includes 1) emerging technology, 2) microbial inactivation efficacy, and 3) development of point-of-use (POU) devices.
