A Brief Introduction to Bayesian Networks in DASEES

Citation:

Dyson, B. AND Tim Canfield. A Brief Introduction to Bayesian Networks in DASEES. Presented at Oregon State University/Puget Sound Partnership/US EPA Structured Decison Making Workshop # 2: Bayesian Statistics Function in DASEES Breakout Session C2, N/A, Washington, May 29, 2020.

Impact/Purpose:

This presentation provides introductory and background information pertaining to the Bayesian network modeling feature in the decision analysis tool DASEES (Decision Analysis for a Sustainable Environment, Economy, and Society). The slide deck is used in conjunction with a Web-based demonstration of Bayesian network function in DASEES. This presentation is originally developed for a joint Oregon State University/ Puget Sound Partnership/ US EPA Structured Decision-Making Workshop #2 Bayesian Statistics Function in DASEES Breakout Session C2

Description:

The presentation provides a general introduction for an audience interested in the use of Bayesian networks for decision-making with DASEES (Decision Analysis for a Sustainable Environment, Economy, and Society). It briefly describes: What a Bayesian network is, what are the benefits of using Bayesian networks for decision-making, useful strategies for using Bayesian networks in DASEES, and how are Bayesian networks are used in decision-making, It is then followed by a Web-based demonstration of Bayesian networks in DASEES.
