Impact/Purpose:

This presentation summarizes data and analysis covering 8 watersheds in the Florida Panhandle. Visualizations of spatial clustering and the intersection of ecological and social prioritization measures are a key output from the V-R2P2 work with region 4 and will be presented to communities as a capability demonstration.

Description:

Visualizations are presented of spatial clustering to demonstate intersection of social vulnerability, ecological priorities and potential locations for future conservation lands. Multiple communities in the Florida panhandle have expressed an interest in improving/developing a nature and culture-based recreation economy with connections between the communities, existing protected lands, and outdoor recreation. Information for prioritization of both ecological and social/cultural values is needed to aid decision-making. This presentation provides the initial visualization of the data and prioritization indices.
