Impact/Purpose:

This presentation provides a summary of the research and anticipated impacts of the FY21 R2P2 Project with Region 4 and the Florida Panhandle Regional Recreation Alliance. The area is working on strategies to improve recovery from Hurricane Michael and attempting to improve the resilience of communities throughout the region. This science is intended to support decision making and improve strategic implimentation of limited resources.

Description:

Community recovery in the wake of Hurricane Michael is approached in this research using a regional approach with the intent to improve overall capacity and resilience. Existing assets and priorities are highlighted along with data and models to identify potential social and environmental vulnerabilities. Though regional, resources and vulnerabilities are assessed locally to improve planning and distribution of resources. The results of the research encompass data and maps to inform decisions across commuities and inclusive of regional goals.
