Impact/Purpose:
This presentation is to inform the current and trainee Air Resource Advisors (ARAs) regarding the research air monitoring equipment available from EPA through the WSMART project. The presentation explains the technologies, including monitoring operation and data visualization, and the process for requesting emergency use. We also will provide highlights from recent and ongoing research activities that continue to enhance the supplemental monitoring equipment and data use.
Description:
This is a presentation to Air Resource Advisors (ARAs) affiliated with the Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program (IWFAQRP). ARAs are technical specialists who are deployed to wildfire incidents to provide smoke monitoring, modeling, and communications support. This presentation describes the continued availability of EPA research equipment to ARAs through the Wildfire SMoke Air monitoring Response Technology (WSMART) project and gives updates about continued research and development activities supporting technology and data analytics enhancements.
