Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this presentation is to inform an international audience about the dry deposition and bidirectional flux modeling in the WRF-CMAQ-EPIC system.

Description:

This presentation will have 3 parts.  The first part provides and overview of dry deposition modeling in the WRF-CMAQ system including description of linkage between the M3Dry deposition model in CMAQ and the PX LSM in WRF.  The second part describes the ammonia bidirectional flux model in CMAQ with linkage to the EPIC agricultural model.  This part will show an example of EPIC application to the CMAQ 12 km CONUS grid for 3 years.  Evaluation of CMAQ ammonia concentrations compared to satellite and ground network measurements will also be presented.  The final part will provide a brief description of the new aerosol dry deposition model in the latest version of CMAQ and evaluation.
