Impact/Purpose:

This presentation is intended to provide GLIMPSE trainees with information about GLIMPSE can be used to identify pathways for mitigating GHG emissions, as well as to evaluate the resulting air pollutant emission co-reductions.

Description:

GLIMPSE is an acronym for the Global Change Analysis Model Long-term Interactive Multi-Pollutant Scenario Evaluator, a decision support tool for integrated air, climate, energy planning. GLIMPSE v1.0 was released by EPA to the public in June, 2023. This training session is the first of the training series that includes the following sessions: (1) What is GLIMPSE? (2) GLIMPSE demonstration, (3) Modeling GHG reduction measures with GLIMPSE, (4) Identifying cost-effective multi-pollutant control strategies, (5) How does GCAM work? (6) Linking GLIMPSE to other models to explore air quality and health impacts, and (7) Special topics that arise during trainings.
