Impact/Purpose:

This presentation provides an overview for the Board of Scientific Counselors (BOSC) Air, Climate, and Energy (ACE) Subcommittee highlighting research in ORD's Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling (CEMM). The focus of the presentation is on the capabilities within the Air Methods & Characterization Division as it pertains to Environmental Priorities of the Agency.  This includes laboratory and field validation studies and the development of support software.

Description:

The focus of the presentation is on development in response to the environmental priorities. While charge questions to the BOSC ACE Subcommittee focused on how the ACE research program is implementing research to develop new methods to quantify source and near-source emissions, as well as ambient levels, of toxic air pollutants and contaiminants of emerging concern. These methods are needed to identify pollutant sources and levels of exposure for communities and individuals.
