Citation:

Hagler, G. AND B. Hassett-Sipple. Air Quality Monitoring in Communities – Overview of Research Strategies. Presentation to OAQPS and Air, Climate and Energy program, NA, NORTH CAROLINA, August 04, 2021.

Impact/Purpose:

This presentation provides a concise overview of air monitoring research methods that can be utilized to address common scientific questions communities may have regarding air pollution concentrations near emission sources.

Description:

This presentation is designed to walk through a scientific framework to understand air pollution in areas near sources and various air monitoring methods that have been used in recent near-source research studies. This presentation does not cover fenceline monitoring technologies or other source emissions measurements; the focus is upon characterizing air quality in community spaces near sources of concern. This slide deck assumes the audience has an existing understanding about common air pollutant types of concern in near-source environments.
