Impact/Purpose:
Presentation to the NLA Steering Committee covering preliminary results of environmental DNA surveys of lakes sampled during the 2017 National Lakes Assessment.
Description:
Current work within the NLA does cover fish community census. This work is a first look at the potential use of environmental DNA collected from lake water samples as a means for analyzing fish communities within these lakes. While the results are not as successful as originally hoped, the data does provide useful information for developing the work further for future surveys of the NLA.
