Impact/Purpose:

This presentation is a general overview of combustion, incineration, and thermal oxidizing technologies, and proposed experimental and modeling approaches for PFAS incineration research at EPA. The purpose is to inform a technical orientated audience about general aspects of incineration technologies and approaches to combustion research, identify unique issues related to PFAS chemistry pertaining to disposal by incineration, and explain ORD's planned approach to PFAS incineration research. The intent is to inform the audience about the fundamentals of combustion science, and how these tools are being used to address questions about PFAS disposal by incineration.
