At the request of the Department of Natural and Sociocultural Sciences at Argonne National Lab, as a professional networking opportunity, this presentation focuses on a summary of the author’s social science research projects. The research highlighted in this presentation includes research that was conducted pre-EPA as well as research that has been or is currently being conducted with the EPA. This presentation highlights several research projects including: participatory ethnographic research conducted at an Ojibwe language and cultural immersion camp; a case study researching knowledge transformation, validity, and perceptions of safety of a specific agricultural biotechnology and related products; a case study about Mongolian pastoralism and the negative impacts of climate change and intrusive globalization; an EPA study about the process and outcomes, in terms of equity and justice, of Area of Concern (AOC) cleanup initiatives; an EPA study identifying how environmental changes of a specific AOC project influence changes in how people use and perceive benefit from the site, and; an EPA review of Great Lakes climate research and initiatives and mental health for common terms, concepts, values, and goals between environmental sciences and mental health sciences.
