Description:
This talk will describe likely changes in temperature and precipitation expected in the northwestern US with global climate change, and their potential impacts on Oregon croplands. The focus will be on the effects of temperature and carbon dioxide on crop productivity, weed control, and impacts of insects and pathogens. Information will be presented on methods whereby crops can adapt to climate change, and how crop production practices can mitigate climate change.
