Impact/Purpose:
The objective of this task is to provide the infrastructure for optimal planning and implementation of research and for assessing the quality of research.
Description:
This is a brief overview of some of the activities commonly involved in remediation, abatement, and decommissioning of areas affected by significant events whether natural or man-made. Some examples from the EPA's post-Katrina and anthrax responses are used to demonstrate the scientific and technical nature of activities.
