Targeted and Non-targeted Analytical Methods for PFAS Detection and Quantification In Environmental Matrices

Citation:

Voit, Jim. Targeted and Non-targeted Analytical Methods for PFAS Detection and Quantification In Environmental Matrices . Workshop on Recent advances in PFAS Detection and Measurement Techniques, Schenectady, NY, June 19 - 20, 2023.

Impact/Purpose:

International Workshop Presentations and Materials: Environmental exposures and public health. John will be presenting on the broad topic of Environmental priorities and intervention strategies. The attached presentation will be provided to the international audience. Location of the workshop will be Cluj, Romania.

Description:

EPA has developed a suite of targeted analytical methods for measurement of PFAS in waters, soils, sediments and biosolids for regulatory and research applications. Quantification at sub part per trillion levels is possible with capable instrumentation, by selection of an appropriate sample preparation technique. Methods for Non-Targeted Analysis (NTA) and suspect screening analysis techniques are implemented for research applications. Total PFAS analytical methods will provide the ability to make a conservative measurement of total fluorochemical load in an environment sample
