Impact/Purpose:

This presentation will be delivered to the guests hosted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The EPA has been a leader in the international effort to protect bees and other pollinators. This presentation provide an overview of pollinator population trends, drivers of these trends and steps the EPA has taken to protect pollinators. Hosting IVLP participants is a unique opportunity to showcase EPA's work.

Description:

The International Visitor Leadership Program is a program organized by the U.S. Department of State. This program is designed to advance U.S. foreign policy goals through cultural exchange and by building professional relationships. For this event, guests from 22 different foreign countries will visit and engage with EPA scientists and staff. Participation in this program presents a unique opportunity to showcase the Environmental Protection Agency's work. This presentation focuses on EPA's role in the international effort to promote the health of pollinators. The discussion will include information on pollinator population trends, the drivers of these trends and steps EPA and its international regulatory counterparts have taken to address pollinator population declines.
