Description:

Report

Purpose/Objective:

This Sample Collection Information Document (SCID) provides general information for use by EPA and its contractors when collecting samples during environmental remediation following a contamination incident. The document is intended to be used with SAM 2017 (EPA/600/R-17/356) and to provide information needed for collection of samples to be analyzed using the specific methods and procedures that have been selected for chemicals, radiochemicals and biotoxins. The information in this document is intended to be used during site assessment, remediation and clearance activities following a contamination incident; it assumes that samples will be collected by personnel trained in collection of environmental samples suspected of containing the target analytes and in dealing with the corresponding safety concerns. Information is included regarding containers, collection volume or weight, preservation, holding times, and packaging of samples representing the sample types and analytes included in SAM 2017.
