The goal of this presentation is to share information with the public about final Crisfield nature-based strategies research results, and to stimulate a discussion about how the community wants to move forward around coastal resilience. Maps shared will help the community better understand project specifics and incorporate into resilience planning.
Description:
This presentation for the final Crisfield community workshop exploring nature-based strategies for resilience describes final research results identifying candidate natural infrastructure projects based on storm surge attenuation capabilities. The goals of these research co-development efforts were to support the Crisfield community with knowledge and tools around nature-based solutions for building resilience while maximizing economic and environmental benefits important to Chesapeake Bay communities such as seafood, tourism, and recreation. This presentation shares the top six candidate nature-based strategies for coastal resilience for Crisfield and will launch discussion with community members about project prioritization and implementation steps.
