Impact/Purpose:

The City of Phoenix in partnership with EPA and RTI International completed a Phoenix-specific assessment. This factsheet provides a summary of the steps for assessing areas that may be vulnerable to pollutant releases due to extreme events. By mapping sites and facilities, extreme weather conditions, and community characteristics together, this information may be used to improve local decisions and planning (e.g., adaptation, mitigation, and response). The steps outlined here also can be customized for specific community needs and interests.
