Abstract |
A comprehensive program involving Federal and State agencies is designed to eliminate or reduce pollution of interstate waters and tributaries and improve sanitary conditions of surface and underground waters. This baseline report on the St. Johns River Basin provides a reference point for measuring progress, a guide to necessary additional data, a basis for development of comprehensive programs, and suggestions for pollution control. Information is presented on uses of water resources, pollution going into the water and resulting damages, benefits resulting from pollution abatement, and pollution prevention measures now in effect. |
