| Abstract |
The Operating Industries, Inc. site, a landfill located in Monterey Park, California received municipal and industrial liquid and sludge wastes. EPA took over operations of gas processing activities and has been conducting site control and monitoring activities at the site since May 1986. Additionally, EPA has conducted a number of emergency actions to mitigate potential threats to public health and the environment. Leachate generated at the site is a hazardous waste and contains volatile organic compounds including trichloroethene, vinyl chloride, benzene, and toluene. The selected remedial action for the site includes site control and monitoring activities. |
