Abstract |
The basic modification to the cement making process consists solely of replacing part of the number 6 fuel oil with used lubricating oil in cement kiln operations. This will reduce costs, control emissions, and reduce exposure associated with use as a dust suppressant. Used lube oil may contain impurities, therefore the storage and handling systems must be designed to assure continuity of operation. Lead emissions are considerably less than emissions from other incineration/fuel recovery units. Economics are highly variable depending on location but this particular operation realizes a profit that justifies the operation. |
