Abstract This Record of Decision (ROD) presents the selected remedial actions for the Operable Unit 4 (OU-4) at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska. OU-4 comprises three source areas: the landfill, the Coal Storage Yard (CSY), and the Fire Training Pits (FTPs). Specific groundwater contaminants of concern at the landfill include benzene; 1,1,2-trichloroethane; 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane; bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate; cis-1,2 dichloroethene; and trichloroethene (TCE). Groundwater contaminants at the CSY include TCE; bis(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate; toluene; and benzene. The ROD addresses soil and groundwater contamination at OU-4.
