Abstract |
The Meteorological Processor for Regulatory Models (MPRM) is a general purpose program used to process meteorological data for use in EPA recommended air quality dispersion models. Capabilities include quality assessment of meteorological data, detailed report generation, and the ability to process a variety of meteorological data bases including both on-site (user collected) and National Weather Service (NWS) meteorological data. Stage 1 (extraction and quality assessment) retrieves meteorological data from various storage media provided by the user (e.g., magnetic tape, floppy disk, and CD-ROM) and conducts the quality assessment of these data. Stage 2 merges the corrected stage 1 data from the various MPRM pathways - upper air (UA), surface (SF) and on-site (OS). The third and final stage performs the necessary processing to create a meteorological data file for use in a dispersion model selected by the user. MPRM supports the following air quality dispersion models which are recommended by EPA for use in regulatory applications (Appendix W to 40 CFR, Part 51): BLP, Caline-3, CDM 2.0, Complex1, ISCST, ISCLT, RAM, RTDM, and Valley. |
