Abstract |
This Handbook includes quality assurance guidelines on ambient air measurement systems. Regardless of the scope and magnitude of the ambient air measurement system, there are a number of common considerations pertinent to the production of quality data. These common parameters are discussed in Section 2.0 of Volume II and include quality assurance guidelines in the areas of: (1) Sampling site selection considerations, (2) Sampling considerations, (3) Data handling and reporting, (4) Compliance monitoring reference and equivalent methods, and (5) Recommended minimum quality assurance program for ambient air monitoring systems. The remainder of Volume II contains pollutant-specific quality assurance guidelines. Initially Volume II includes guidelines for the following pollutant-specific measurement systems: Section 2.1 reference method for determination of sulfur dioxide (pararosaniline method) and Section 2.2 reference method for determination of suspended particulates (high volume method). Operators and managers responsible for ambient air measurements will find Volume II useful in planning quality assurance. |
