Abstract This study analyzes these natural variations (across all spatial and temporal scales) through the application of rotated Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to the total column ozone data derived from Version 6.0 TOMS (Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer) for the period 1984-1989. Utilization of Kaiser's varimax orthogonal rotation allowed delineation of eleven homogeneous subregions that together accounted for 74.08% of the total variance.
