Abstract |
A concept for numerically rating urban water supplies was developed and its feasibility was demonstrated by applying the concept to an existing water supply system. The rating concept is based upon determining the reliability of system equipment, the probability that the system furnishes water meeting federal drinking water standards, the effect of equipment failure on system water quality, and the relative ability of the system to remove constituents from raw water that exceed the drinking water standards. |
