Abstract |
Arsenic and other inorganic contaminants are found in the water supplies of many small communities. One possible solution for the problem of inorganic contaminants is point-of-use treatment, which can be used by individual homes or small communities. Ion exchange, activated alumina, and reverse osmosis point-of-use treatment units have been evaluated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and each system was found to be effective under certain operating conditions. Data from various field projects are presented, along with laboratory data on the removal of specific contaminants. |
