Abstract |
The economic feasibility of a refuse-fired waterwall incinerator that would supply steam to an industrial firm is investigated for a community looking for an acceptable solid waste disposal method. The city of Lynn, Massachusetts was used as an example. Several different combinations of grate type, equipment ownership, and equipment location are cost-compared in detail. Plant equipment components and manpower requirements are described. Other solid waste disposal alternatives are discussed. It was concluded that for Lynn, a waterwall incinerator facility is the region's most feasible future solid waste disposal method. |
