Abstract The Environmental Technology Initiative (ETI) is an interagency effort led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to improve public health and environmental quality by removing regulatory, informational institutional, and other barriers to technology innovation. Reducing these barriers can create a win-win-win for our environment, our economy, and our quality of life. ETI is fulfilling EPA's commitment to implement the National Environmental Technology Strategu (NETS) throughout America by reducing barriers to technology innovation. This report describes examples of the progress they are achieving. With funds allocated to over 465 recipients and additional in-kind and direct contributions made by 690 partners across the country, ETI catalyzes public/private partnerships that reward performance-based approaches to protecting public health and the environment. Typical ETI partnerships include small businesses, communities, and federal, regional, state, local, and tribal levels of government.
