Abstract |
The Institute of Gas Technology (IGT) applied combustion group conducts research in such areas as waste incineration, pollutant reduction, equipment design, fuel combustion characteristics, and burner development. Among the group's world-class research equipment is an advanced natural-gas-fired cyclonic incinerator test facility. This facility can incinerate liquid, gaseous, and solid wastes using air preheat temperatures up to 1200 deg F. Oxygen enrichment of the primary and secondary air is also possible. A semi-automatic computer-assisted control system ties the individual components and subsytems together and provides computerized data acquisition. |
