Abstract |
The health hazard resulting from present or future use of contaminated ground water for drinking and culinary purposes is examined in this study. It includes a limited survey of private domestic wells in the area and considers the possible contamination of wells supplying the city of Brighton. It is concluded that a portion of the shallow ground water aquifer in the area between Derby and Henderson is contaminated, and that wastes dishcarged from the Rocky Mountain Arsenal from 1943-1955 are the principal source of such contamination. Sludge may also be a source of continuing contamination. |
