Abstract |
A description of pollution data requirements, spatial and temporal resolution, reliability and applicability to criteria is presented for three categories of atmospheric simulation models. Categories are distinguished on the basis of their emission characteristics. Level 1 requires only an estimate of total emissions in the air quality maintenance are (AQMA). Level 2 apportions total emissions into subareas within the AQMA and expresses the apportioned emissions are emission densities. Level 3 allows explicit treatment of point, line, and area sources of pollution. Several models in each category are described, and their applicability to air quality maintenance programs is discussed. |
