Abstract |
A study was made to evaluate the feasibility of using foam fractionation alone, or in combination with carbon adsorption, to remove detergents and other water soluble organic impurities from waste water. Emulsion fractionation was also evaluated briefly as a waste water purification technique. Future population growth in the U.S. is expected to require more fresh water than is presently available and the Esso Research and Engineering Co., has studied the feasibility of using foam fractionation, alone and in combination with adsorption, also emulsion fractionation as means for renovating waste water for possible reuse.
