Abstract |
This report was prepared for the Triad Region of North Carolina, (Greensboro, High Point, and Winston Salem) subsequent to a three volume Phase I Preliminary Feasibility study of resource recovery potentials. This study investigates the potential role of resource recovery as a primary element of a solid waste management strategy and identifies six technically feasible resource recovery alternatives. In developing these options, three generic technologies were considered: mass burning combustion, coarse RDF production/dedicated boiler, and modular combustion. Although eight prospective customers for waste-derived energy were interviewed, only four present probable markets. |
