||The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing effluent limitations guidelines and standards for promulgation at 40 CFR Part 430 for the Pulp, Paper, and Paperboard industrial category to control the discharge of pollutants into surface waters of the United States in the report. The compendium of test procedures (methods) supports the proposal. The purpose of publishing the compendium is to provide a single source of methods that are unique to the proposed rule. These methods must be used for filing permit applications and for compliance monitoring under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. The compendium includes only those methods that are unique to the pulp and paper rule-making.
