Abstract |
The report discusses the solvent uses of CFC113 with alternative cleaning agents or processes to reduce and eventually eliminate the need for CFC113. The report also addresses the potential use of methyl chloroform (MCF) and carbon tetrachloride as substitutes for CFC113. Each industry section describes the use of CFC113 in that particular industry, alternatives for reducing or replacing CFC113, the cost of alternatives, environmental considerations, and the potential global reduction of CFC113 use. A final section describes the use of CFC113 in a number of industry applications not discussed elsewhere in the report including use as a bearer media for coating and inpregnation, use in vapor soldering technology, use in component drying, use in forced air cleaning of parts, and use in miscellaneous testing. |
