Abstract |
The purpose of this document is to present the technical basis for establishing sediment guidelines for nonionic organic chemical using equilibrium partitioning (EqP). This approach is chosen because it addresses the two principal technical issues that must be resolved in deriving nationally applicable, scientifically defensible sediment guidelines: varying bioavailability of chemical in sediment and selection of an appropriate biological effects concentration. |
