Abstract The report presents results of the survey conducted by EERF personnel to assess levels of environmental radioactivity resulting from maintenance and operation of nuclear-powered warships at the Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Newport News Shipbuilding. The purpose of the survey was to determine if activities related to nuclear-powered warships resulted in release of radionuclides which may contribute to significant population exposure or contamination of the environment.
