Abstract |
A boundary layer trajectory model was used to compute the residence time of air parcels within transient high-pressure systems of Canadian origin traversing the eastern Ohio River Valley. A strong correlation was noted among the presence of a transient anticyclone, elevated pollution levels, deteriorating horizontal visibility and the length of time an air parcel had been entrained in the boundary layer of the high-pressure system. |
