Abstract |
Pesticidal chemicals provide primary control mechanisms for insect vectors of a number of diseases of significant public health importance. The present paper will review some of the accomplishments toward control of these diseases through use of the modern synthetic pesticides. A balanced public health view of pesticide usage must also include evaluation of potential toxic side effects on human health. This problem will also be reviewed. |
