Abstract |
The concept of stream renewal is addressed in view of the historical development in the United States of declining water quality and increasing attempts to improve it. General types of water quality management programs are reviewed, including: water pollution control; recreation; watershed programs; flood and other land zoning; and the idea of America the Beautiful. The stream renewal concept is concluded to hold promise of beautification and greater values for Americans. |
