Abstract This study is a further attempt to find a relationship between daily mortality, air pollution, and weather. New methods were devised for this purpose. The study was comparative. Three U.S. Cities were studied at the same time using the same methods and similar data from each. Due to the insufficient models previously used to study the relationship between mortality and air pollution and weather, a new model was conceptualized. This model, the stimulus-response model, serves as the frame work for extensive analysis of the relationship. The analysis was performed on data from New York City, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The data included total daily mortality, 65 plus mortality, pollutants and weather. (Author)
