| Abstract |
This document provides guidance to EPA permit writers and States on how best to implement EPA's National Pollutant Elimination System (NPDES) regulations regarding appropriate monitoring requirements in permits. It also provides guidance to the public and to the regulated community on how EPA intends to exercise its discretion in implementing its regulations. The guidance is designed to implement national policy on these issues. Pretreatment control authorities also may find it helpful in setting monitoring frequency for industrial users of POTWs. |
