Two years after "the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency promulgated regulation designed to increase public participation in the planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment systems. Opinions as to their degrees of success are widely divergent. The purpose of this assessment was to identify very specific activities which are part of every public participation program, the degree of success of these activities, specific reasons for the activities' success or failure, and formulate recommendations for program improvement based upon the data gathered for the assessment. ... Region V has attempted an assessment of the effectiveness of public participation. This region is comprised of six Midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota."--Summary. |
