| Abstract |
The Facility Index database of the Facility Index System (FINDS) provides the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with a computerized inventory on over 400,000 facilities regulated by EPA. The database contains two sets of information about each facility. The first set contains facility identification data such as its unique EPA ID code, name, and physical address. The second set contains 'pointers' to other sources of information, that is, other EPA programs and databases which contain more detailed information about the facility such as the Office of Water's Permit Compliance System (PCS). Because of the useful information, FINDS is a key tool for integrating data in support of building enforcement cases, targeting joint program inspections, responding to public requests for information and helping to solve other environmental issues. The file will be updated quarterly. |
