Abstract A resistance-in-series model was used to study the pervaporation of multiple volatile organic compounds (VOCs)-water mixtures. Permeation experiments were carried out for four membranes and three VOCs. The membrane permeability were calculated in terms of the resistance-in-series model. The membrane performances were then compared with each other based on the permeabilities. Both organic and water permeabilities of polyether-block-polyamides (PEBA) membrane for one VOC-water, two VOC-water, and three VOC-water mixtures were found to be comparable with each other.
