| Abstract |
This decision document presents the No Action with Groundwater Monitoring decision for Operable Unit (OU) 3, the Small Landfill at NAS South Weymouth, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, which was chosen in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA), 42 USC section mark 9601 et seq., as amended by the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA), and, to the extent practicable, the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP), 40 CFR Part 300 et seq., as amended. The regulatory program performed under the context of these combined laws and regulations is commonly referred to as 'Superfund.' This decision is based on the Administrative Record, which has been developed in accordance with Section 113 (k) of CERCLA, and which is available for review at the Navy's northeastern office, Environmental Field Activity Northeast (EFANE), in Lester Pennsylvania. Public information repositories are also kept at the Tufts Library in Weymouth, Massachusetts; the Abington Public Library in Abington, Massachusetts; the Hingham Public Library in Hingham, Massachusetts; the Rockland Memorial Library in Rockland, Massachusetts; and the Department of the Navy Caretaker Site Office (CSO) in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Navy. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MADEP) has deferred its decision on concurrence at this time. |
